Barbara Kurkas Lee

Barb holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with a minor in Theology from Carlow University and a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Gannon University. She received her Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery from Case Western Reserve University and has broad experience in many areas of nursing, most recently in hospice and palliative care. Barb began her hands-on aromatherapy education in graduate school during nurse-midwifery training. Barb received her Registered Aromatherapist® from the independent Aromatherapy Registration Council(ARC). RA certification confirms advanced education and safety standards when working with essential oils in a treatment setting. Barb’s nursing and further hands-on essential oil training came from the Integrative Aromatherapy® Certificate Program for Health Professionals. She also has completed the Essential Oil Safety program offered by The Tisserand Institute.
Barb is one of the founding board members of the Aromatic Research Quality Appraisal Taskforce, ARQAT. She is on the research committee with The Clinical of International Aromatherapists. She has attended and studied the Advanced Ingham Method of Foot Reflexology. Barb continues her education in Carl Jung’s archetype theory from the C. G. Jung Foundation Continuing Education.
